It is a always a pleasure visiting Italy, whether for food, outdoors, historical or cultural sight-seeing, the country has simply so much to offer.

We spent a week in Finale Ligure in early spring and chose to pitch at Camping Tahiti. The campsite has a good location, within 10-15mins walk to restaurants and shops. It offers as well full camper and modern (and clean) sanitary services. We had a spacious pitch for out camper and very good WIFI connection. You can even order pizzas onsite and they were absolutely delicious!

1. The Mecca of Mountain Biking

If you are into MTB, you will most likely know Finale Ligure is being hailed the MTB mecca in Europe. There are a few companies offering uplift shuttle services. You have the choice to sign up for a full day shuttle (guided rides with a group) or single uplift – we signed up with Ezefreeride and FinaleExpress respectively! There are plenty of trails in the region – from intermediate to expert levels. The Nato Base being the most popular and iconic starting point for most.

We also did a cross country bike tour (~350m altitude uphill climb) and then riding down the trails facing the iconic Mediterranean coastline of Finale. It is such a beautiful ride, alongside the vineyards and orchards.

For MTB enthusiasts, you will be happy to learn that many of the trails are pretty much accessible for most part of the year – though the biking season typically starts from March.

2. Sea and Beach

The coastline along Finale is absolutely stunning. Limestone cliffs, sandy beaches, palm trees by the sea – it is a true Mediterranean experience. You will find plenty of hippy bars to hang out for drinks and great gourmet options along the beach.

3. Cultural & Historical sightseeing

How about a walk along the historical Finale Borgo. Who can resist a rich-flavored gelato?!

4. Gourmet

Food is simply great in Italy – from starters to the mains and desserts. I am a seafood fan and this is close to “my type” of pasta – Gambas, mussels, clams..

Did I hear food coma? Not unusual for a trip to Italy.. haha
